Max and Fang Love Story

     Fang and I auditioned for a play a couple months back, and guess what parts we got? Romeo and Juliet. We have to do a duet song in the end, yipee!
Anyways.
     The curtains pull up, and I start talking all this nonsense that the playwriters force us to say, and soon after I started talking all these things, Fang -Romeo- comes up and starts talking too. After a while of that the curtain pulls down and the crowd does a small cheer. Act 1 over with, two more to go, I thought to myself. Act 2 had barely anything to do with Romeo, so I did this part with pure acting. Yes I said it, I didn't act all the way on part one because it was easy to talk with Fang around. Is that love? I have no clue.
     Ugh. This scene was BORING. This isn't even the real way it's written. This playwriter has a LOT of studying to do. They were saying... poems? What the heck? It was my cue to leave the scene adn Romeo in, so as we passed each other I let out a quick reassuring smile, because he had to mock fight with the people in there. No, in the real script, this doesn't happen. So WHY does this random guy make us do it? Because Angel said it'd be fun. Yep, a six year old convinced Fang and I to audition to a fake Romeo and Juliet, adn this is going to determine if us two go into a movie with the real script. Am I determined? No. Is Fang? He would if I make it.
     FINALLY. Act 2 was OVER. Yep, now for our little duet after I start talking about something. Then I start off (hence in italics is what I do on that line):

We were both young when I first saw you
I close my eyes and the flashback starts
I'm standing there on a balcony in summer air
See the lights, see the party, the ball gowns
See you make your way through the crowd
And say hello,
little did I know

I stare at Fang with a blank expression
My eyes close slowly and make myself look like I went through a flashback (props and such move to a more ballroom-like interior while a miniature interlude plays)
I look around at the lights, at the room, and the dresses everyone's wearing.
I look at Fang weaving his way through the crowd
I just stare at him.

That you were Romeo, you were throwing pebbles
And my daddy said stay away from Juliet
And I was crying on the staircase, begging you please don't go
And I said

(the props change around again, me and Fang are seperated by a window) Romeo throws pebbles at the glass one by one.
my 'daddy' comes out of the house saying "stay away fron Juliet!"
I sat on the staircase pleading Fang with convincing eyes singing "please don't go"
I just say "and I said"

Romeo take me somewhere we can be alone
I'll be waiting, all there's left to do is run
You'll be the prince and I'll be the princess
It's a love story, baby just say yes

Fang takes my hand and kisses it, mouthing off the "will be back soon"
Romeo Runs off, me having tears running down my eyes
Fang's on the other side of the stage, bowing when I say prince, and I twirl around when I say princess.
I clasp my hands together.

So I sneak out to the garden to see you
We keep quiet 'cause we're dead if they knew
So close your eyes, escape this town for a little while
Oh, oh

(props change quickly to a garden scene, I don't know HOW they do it so fast with the song oging this fast) I look around the garden making sure nobody's around. I spot Romeo.
We're on our tiptoes walking to each other.
We run away out of the stage.

'Cause you were Romeo, I was a scarlet letter
And my daddy said stay away from Juliet
But you were everything to me,
I was begging you please don't go
And I said

(props back at the house scene thing) I was holding a scarlet letter
'daddy' comes out and yealls for him to go away
I wold both of my hands to my heart, looking at the sky
I stare into his eyes and beg him not to go
I say "and I said"

Romeo take me somewhere we can be alone
I'll be waiting, all there's left to do is run
You'll be the prince and I'll be the princess
It's a love story, baby just say yes

I reach my hand out to him, but he's too far away for me to hold him.
I just sit there all teary and we both run opposite directions, tears down both of our cheeks
Romeo Bows when I say prince and I twirl when I pay princess
hands clasped over my heart, moving my body to the beat.

Romeo save me they're trying to tell me how to feel
this love is difficult, but it's real
Don't be afraid we'll make it out of this mess
It's a love story, baby just say yes

Romeo takes my hand at the staircase and I sing the rest of the phrase while he drags meto the other side of the stage.
one arm over my heart again
Romeo stope abruptly to give me a reassuring smile.
he lets go of me so I can clasp both my hands over my heart. He takes it again and drags me ouf ot the stage.

I got tired of waiting
wondering if you were ever coming around
My faith in you is fading
When I met you on the outskirts of town
And I said

(scene now at the outskirts of town) I ran off into the middle of the stage 'looking' for Romeo. I sat down 'tired'
looking at the sky.
I started slumping into a ball
saw Romeo and stood up
said "and I said"

Romeo save me I've been feeling so alone
I keep waiting for you, but you never come
Is this in my head, I don't know what to think
He knelt to the ground and pulled out a ring
And said

He takes one of my hands
I stomp a foot (haha)
I put my free hand on my head, looking frustrated
Romeo kneels to the ground, pulling out a ring.

Marry me Juliet you'll never have to be alone
I love you and that's all I really know
I talked to your dad you'll pick out a white dress
It's a love story, baby just say yes
Oh, oh, oh

WARNING: Fang is now singing, so this is in his view
I put a hand over my heart, making myself look excited (Juliet nods yes)
I put my arm away from my body to the side when I said know
I point to a random house
I stand up and put the ring on her

We were both young when I first saw you

Fang and I sang this part together, and guess what?

Romeo landed an unexpected kiss on me, to end the show. I heard the crowd cheering heir lungs out at this scene, and when I pulled away from him I smiled and looked at the BIG crowd. We both bowed, and motioned the other cast characters out.

After all the yays, oohs, aaahs, and an acception to the movie (with Fang), we went home EXHAUSTED. At least I know Fang can sing GOOD.
